Our History
Long before it became a country house and a restaurant, this place was a typical farmstead in the Sienese countryside. Here, life followed the rhythm of the seasons: the stables housed the cows, the pens the pigs, and the farmyard was bustling with hens and the daily work of the farming families who lived on these lands. Over the years, the farmhouse has undergone various transformations, whilst retaining its authentic character and strong ties to the local area.
In the early 2000s, the hospitality project was launched, breathing new life into the premises and transforming the old farmhouse into a country house with guest rooms, apartments and a restaurant.
Our connection to our rural roots is still very much part of our daily lives: chickens, sheep and horses live on the farm and help to preserve the authentic atmosphere that has always characterised this corner of Tuscany.
Here, generations of the same family have grown up amongst the fields, the animals and the tables laid out to welcome guests. It is this spirit that still guides the way we offer hospitality today: authentic, family-oriented and deeply rooted in our land.
Our Philosophy
Today, Casa di Campagna and Il Grillo Moro continue to be a place that feels, first and foremost, like a home. A family-run establishment where hospitality is all about simple gestures, Tuscan cuisine, traditions and a personal touch for every guest.
